Diving In
First off, I am so excited to be here, collecting all of my thoughts in one place and creating content that I want to see in the world. It's a bit scary to put yourself out there sometimes but the longer you hold off and make excuses for yourself, the more you'll want to do it (and the more time you will have wasted) so it's better to just start where you are.
My advice to anyone who has wanted to start a project for a long time is to first get your mindset in check. Listen to yourself and don't be afraid to pursue the things that make you excited about life. Once you've made up your mind, put all your weight into that project and trust yourself, trust your process.
Sometimes our passions are put aside because they aren't considered "in line" with the way we see our life going. I've always loved photography, fashion and collecting my thoughts and inspiration on the web. I've blogged for years- always as a personal outlet for myself. But I also took a very traditional course through a 4-year college and into a field that was related to my studies. I didn't think there was any room for this thing I loved doing, blogging about fashion. What I've learned in my first 2 years out of college is that the course you set for yourself is allowed to change with you and that it's never as easy as putting yourself in a career and thinking that it will give you everything you need in life. You have to find that in other places and people and activities.
So now I'm setting the intention to align my passions with my everyday experiences- taking the time to hone in on those things I love to do and hopefully work at perfecting my craft over time. I'm allowing myself to devote time to things I love. And my hopes are that doing so will allow me to feel more self-fulfilled so that it becomes less important to know if it's the right thing to do or if I'm "on track" with my life.
These are some thoughts as I begin this journey into fashion blogging. Let's remember that there is always enough space for you to do what you love and there is always space for you here. Thanks for being here!
So what is it that you're going to dive into?
