My Favorite Online Print Shops

Prints by Jan Skacelik

After moving into my apartment three years ago now, I feel like things are only just starting to come together decor wise. I do really enjoy taking time to think about my space, creating Pinterest boards to get the mood just right, then shopping high and low for the perfect furniture and decor pieces. But all of that takes time on a budget and so here we are three years later, trying to figure out what kind of artwork to put up to finally add some interest to these white walls. If you’re like me and looking for some unique (and affordable) art pieces, then take a look at these online shops I’ve rounded up today. These are some of my favorite places to find great art prints to inject some interest into your space.

Desenio: This is the best place to find those beloved line drawing prints and more abstract and colorful prints. They also have a vast collection of photography and typography prints, perfect to stand alone or on a gallery wall.

Society 6: This is a great online destination to support small designers and photographers and there are literally thousands of designs to choose from on this site. They also supply everything from prints to tapestries and phone cases. One of the first prints that I bought for my apartment is a pretty pink San Diego mosaic print that you’ve probably seen in a bunch of my bedroom photos. I love the idea of decorating with prints that have a bit of hometown pride to them!

The Poster Club: This is a new favorite of mine. The prints featured are by both individual artists and studios that I have become a fan of. Some of my favorites are Jan Skacelik, LouLous Avenue, and Hein Studio. I love the uniqueness of the prints featured on this site. I think this is such a great selection of artists and while they are a bit pricier than the previous sites mentioned, I really love that you can directly support those artists and their work.

Mapiful: Continuing on the idea of adding a sense of place in your art decor, try a custom map print. This site is cool because you really get to customize your print, from the city to the font and colors. These make a really meaningful gift as well.

The Night Sky: This site is similar to Mapiful but with more of an astronomical twist. Yes, this is a map of the night sky on any specific date, time and location that you choose. Talk about a conversation piece! They are also just a lovely and minimal design in general and add a whole lot of interest to any room.

Hotel Magique: This is one of my favorite small independent print shops. Their designs have a cool vintage Parisian vibe and a sense of humor to them so naturally they make great interest pieces in a room. I love the subdued color palette, the touch of abstractness and of old school adverts at the same time. They feel like lovely old movie posters with some tongue in cheek expressions.

Jasmine Dowling: I’ve followed graphic designer, photographer, art director and all around cool girl on Instagram for a while now and I love everything she makes. Her work also has a subdued pastel palette and lovely hand drawn typography. Everything she does has so much thought and effort put into it and I hope to someday own one of her gorgeous prints.

Laurie Maun: This is an artist I only recently learned about through Instagram and I really love her abstract and bright pastel palette. She does several of these monolithic abstract prints in different colors and I really love how they look as a set. It’s always nice to be able to support an artist and see her process so up close.
