Mornings at the Marina
The other morning I headed to the marina where my dad lives on a Catalina 30 sailboat. I love visiting the marina, and wish it were somewhere I could spend more time. It’s such a serene and peaceful place to be at certain times of the day. My family has always loved sailing and my dad is definitely living out his #boatlife dreams right now. While these boots would definitely not cut it as boat shoes (white bottoms only) the rest of this outfit is perfect for the breezy marina. And a major plus side; the marina is one of the few places in San Diego right now where you can get away with a light knit.
Head To Toe Neutrals
As we teeter on the brink of Autumn here in SoCal I’m finding every opportunity I can to break out a cozy sweater, at least for a little while in the mornings before it warms up again. I love dressing in all neutral outfits when the seasons change. While I tend to lean heavily on black and dark colors in my wardrobe, it can be a refreshing change to wear something a bit lighter now and then. This is especially true in the Autumn and Winter when the weather turns grey and gloomy. The easiest way I’ve found to nail this look is with a pair of light or off-white pants. These Everlane Straight Leg Pants have been a game changer in my wardrobe, ever since I bought them back in April of last year. I also did a review video of these pants if you’re interested.
Practical & Chic Winter Boots
One thing I’m most excited about wearing all Winter long are my new Amalia boots from Nisolo. They’ve just released their bestseller style in two new colors, Sand (pictured) and Black, and very kindly gifted me a pair to try out. These boots feel so comfortable and well-made from my first impressions. I would like to do a full review of these boots once I’ve worn them a bit longer. If this is something you’d like to see on either YouTube or the blog, then let me know! Because these are quite a different style from what I’m used to, I think styling them in different ways is going to be a fun challenge.
