Cozy Knitwear From Tradlands
‘Tis the season for knitwear! Today I wanted to chat all things ethical and sustainable knitwear, seeing as I’m spending a whole lot of time in it at the moment. One of my favorite brands for quality and classic knitwear is Tradlands. I recently added the Haven Mock Neck Sweater to my small but mighty collection (kindly gifted) and I already want to live in it. I have a few thoughts on this sweater and some of their other popular styles so let’s cozy up and jump right in. Oh and if you’re wanting to check out Tradlands for yourself, I have a discount code below too!
Design, Fit & Material
Upon my first impressions of this sweater, I noticed how soft and lux the material felt. It’s a blend of 50% Alpaca, 45% recycled acrylic/polyester and 5% wool. The high percentage of natural materials makes it very warm and insulated and gives it that fuzzy texture that I love. It’s already a quite relaxed fit if you stay TTS but I like a roomier kit so I sized up to a medium. I’m also a big fan of a drop shoulder design as I find it more flattering on my wider shoulders. But my favorite design element of this sweater is the mock neck. I LOVE the subtle nautical feeling of a mock neck and this one is has quite an exaggerated shape, giving the classic style a more modern feel. Classic designs with a modern spin is what Tradlands does best in my humble opinion.
How To Style
In the colder months, I always rely on the basic uniform of a crew neck tee, jeans and a sweater. From this simple base it’s easy to dress things up with outerwear in a fun print or material, a pair of heels or boots and accessories. If I were going for a funky holiday outfit, I might pair this with my black vinyl trench coat and some lace up boots. If I want a really classic look, I’d just throw on my navy peacoat and my lace up Grenson Nanette boots or a simple pair of loafers. Another outfit combo I’m loving at the moment is a heavy knit sweater layered over a silk midi skirt and a festive heel. It just may be the perfect holiday look, a little lux, a little cozy, and a lot chic.
Some More Favorites
While this is the newest addition to my growing Tradlands knitwear collection, I have a few others that are on regular rotation in my wardrobe. The first being my most worn item of clothing this year, the Shelter Cardigan. This is just one of the best pieces they do in my opinion, which is probably why they can barely keep them in stock. Another new favorite of mine is the Modern Fisher, which as the name suggests, is a fisherman-style cable knit sweater. Both of these styles are heavy cotton knits that works year round, as opposed to a wool-blend that’s better suited for winter.
