Styling Spring Staples From Tradlands
One issue I find when it comes to creating a capsule wardrobe each season is deciding when to switch out my pieces each season. Most of the time it’s a gradual shift, with the change in weather being the main motivating factor. Since readjusting to the climate here in Georgia, I’ve been reaching for more shorts and dresses on the weekends, a bit earlier than I would have back in San Diego. As we approach June I’ve introduced a new Spring/ Summer staple into my wardrobe. Since we’re not quite in the dog days of summer yet, I figure I’d share one way I’m styling my more summery pieces for now.
Tradlands Glenn Long Short
One of the pieces that instantly caught my eye in the Tradlands S/S collection is the Glenn Long Short in black. In the past couple of years I’ve gravitated away from the denim cutoffs that I wore religiously in my early twenties. While I still love the style, lately I’ve wanted to opt for something a bit more comfortable (stretchy waistbands!) and in softer, more flowing fabrics. I also like the extra coverage of a longer length short. I love the subtle nod to vintage sportswear, the rounded edge trim and material choice. The Tencel and Linen blend is the perfect lightweight material for warmer days and makes these shorts feel just a bit more luxe.

A Classic Striped Top
A long sleeve top and shorts is the perfect combination for a late Spring, transitional outfit in my opinion. As someone who tends to shy away from getting my legs out, I tend to wear something more covered on top to balance it out. I love how these Tradlands shorts look with a classic striped long sleeve tee. This is one I’ve had for a couple years and have worn more times than I can count. I like the boxier fit to it which I found by shopping the mens section. If you’re like me and prefer a looser fit for your tees, definitely don’t pass up the menswear section! I find that menswear often has more classic and minimal shapes and silhouettes that better fit my personal taste.
Gold Accessories & A Block Heel
During the warmer months when I have fewer layers to work with, I rely more heavily on accessories to keep my outfits interesting. Since I always wear gold jewelry, I love having a pair of Ray Ban round metal sunglasses to match. These are probably my most favorite accessory purchase of the past year because they just seem to give every outfit that polished finishing touch. I also decided to pair this rather casual outfit with a heel to give it a little extra something. These Sarah Flint Rosie Heels are my ideal closed toe heel, one with a subtle 60s loafer shape. Besides being an extremely comfortable low heel, any shoe that can get me out of sandals for a day is a winner in my books.
