How to Style Classic Swedish Clogs Two Ways
If you’ve been following me for a while you may know how much I love classic Swedish clogs. They’re the cottagecore staple that fits right into my minimalist wardrobe. I know a lot of you all love the look of clogs but sometimes find them hard to style. And yeah, I totally get it! When you have something so different in your closet, it can be a bit intimidating to try to work them into your daily looks in a way that feels natural to your personal style. But ever since introducing these styles into my closet, I’ve had so much fun experimenting with them. So today I’m sharing two ways to wear these cute styles from Sandgrens Clogs for effortless, Scandi-chic summer dressing.

The Oversized Dress
One of the easiest ways to style my Sandgrens Dublin Clogs are with an oversized dress for super simple summer dressing. This is my minimalist summer outfit of dreams. The big, tent dress can be a bit much so I think pairing it with a sturdier clog really helps to balance out all that volume on top. This dress definitely takes center stage so I think it helps that the clogs are statement enough but not too busy. I’m wearing the Dublin style from Sandgrens, which is a very comfortable medium heel height (2 5/8“) and a sleek, matte black leather. This style feels both super classic and stylish but also really comfortable.

70s Monochrome
One of my go-to outfit formulas is this head to toe off white look. I love the subtle 70s vibe that these Sandgrens Maya Clogs give off, with the warm brown vegetable tanned leather and the slightly higher (3 1/8“) wooden heel. I like to exaggerate that a bit more by pairing them with my high waisted wide leg pants from Laude the Label and a daintier silk button up shirt from Quince, in that matching cream color. Pairing these two pieces creates a seamless fit that’s super flattering, dressy without being too dressy, and makes me feel like I’ve got legs for days. This outfit screams SoCal summer to me so it’s always something I like to wear and rewear during the warmer months.
Minimalist vs. Retro
So I’m curious, which of the two styles of Sandgrens clogs are your favorite; the minimal Dublin or the retro Maya clogs? Personally, I wear the Dublin clogs more often because they’re slightly shorter and more comfortable for everyday. I tend to reach for the Maya clogs when I want something that feels a bit dressier. And if you’re wondering, Sandgrens does do an even shorter 1 3/4” heel called the Tokyo Clogs. But more importantly, I love how seamlessly these clogs fit into my personal style; a bit Scandi, a bit minimal and a bit retro too. They’re really such a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe, regardless of what you categorize your personal style as and I think that’s why they’ve long been such a staple. I’d love to know your thoughts on classic Swedish clogs. Leave me a comment and let me know how you’d style them.
