July Playlist

This month’s playlist is a relaxing mix of chill house, lo-fi, and indie music for those long summer days.

I’ve also made some exciting new music discoveries by way of some online independent radio stations. I’ve been a fan of NTS in London and DubLab in LA but this month I learned about Hamshack Radio in Cape Town, playing a range of house, techno, IDM, jazz, and hip hop from various local DJs.

Then there’s my new girl crush, Danielle whose NTS techno show is my new favorite thing.

I’ve found myself wanting to hear some new music and artists while I’ve been glued to my computer screen all month. One particularly exciting discovery is Sault, a UK-based collective that fuses blues and funk with house music.

And there’s Mindchatter who sort of walks the line between indie and electronic music. For any LCD Soundsystem fans out there, Mindchatter did a fun cover of I Can Change that’s worth a listen.

Speaking of fun covers, Flume’s version of My Boo by Ghost Town DJ's is also very much worth a listen, and the original too while you’re at it.
