A Roundup Of My Favorite Glossier Products
A Brief Catch Up
I wanted to start this post with a bit of a catch up, as it’s been nearly a month since my last one. This was a totally unplanned break and yet totally necessary. To say that I was in a slump was a bit of an understatement. Every aspect of my life felt somehow off balance and daily tasks just seemed way harder than normal. As much as a love to believe and advocate for pulling yourself out of a slump, I really do feel like sometimes you just have to roll with it and just process all of the emotions your going through, as if the only way to get over it is to just get through it. At some point over the last week I felt a literal weight lifted off my mind and the storm clouds cleared and I just felt happy and content with where I’m at again. It’s a head scratcher, but I’m feeling so much more thankful to be on the other side of that feeling. So that said, it’s back to business as usual around here…
My Top Glossier Picks
Today I wanted to talk about one of my favorite brands, Glossier and my top pick products from their line up as well as share my first impressions from a few new items I picked up recently. Last week I visited their shop in LA and tried out loads of products but ended up sticking to my original shopping list. Although now my list has grown and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
Milky Jelly Cleanser: I use this every day to cleanse my face morning and night. It’s so gentle on my combination skin and never leaves it feeling stripped like a lot of harsher cleansers. I love the jelly consistency too. I recently finished one and after a bit of shopping around just decided to repurchase it as it’s become something of a staple in my very minimal skincare routine, one I don’t want to live without.
Boy Brow: While I don’t currently use this, I do really miss it. Glossier really has perfected some of those effortless, barely there products that it can be easy to take them for granted. I love the black tinted boy brow because it keeps my brows in place and gives them the slightest tint of color. My brows are pretty sparse so I do really want to try their brow flick for a more dramatic look.
Balm Dotcom: Speaking of products you take for granted, this is something you can definitely find a cheap dupe for (ie. Vaseline) but Glossier has somehow managed to make such a basic product feel so lux and special. I live by the rose Balm Dotcom and I’m not even a religious chapstick user. But when I swipe this on, I just feel like I have my shit together.
New Additions
Super Glow Serum: This is something I’ve wanted to add to my skincare routine and I can honestly say I was so pleasantly surprised with the instant results I’m seeing. I can’t say I fully understand the science behind adding a serum but I have noticed my skin feeling dull lately jut from general life living. So having this to brighten my skin and as a base for my moisturizer just feels like a nice extra step.
Lash Slick Mascara: This is one of those products that seemed too good to be true. I can honestly say I never wear mascara because it is a fuss to deal with in the morning and it doesn’t budge at night without a makeup remover (which I despise using). So I tried this out and while it didn’t curl my stick straight lashes quite like I’d hoped, it did a really great job at lengthening them, like wow! It also washes right off with water and the Milky Jelly Cleanser at night so it’s pretty hassle free in my eyes.
My Shopping List
A few more items that are on my list for next time…
Glossier You perfume: It smelled amazing when I tried it on in the store and apparently smells a little different on everyone so that kind of customization feels really special.
Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector: Another item I tried in the store and loved it as a sort of all in one toner, exfoliator, cleanser type product. It also has a lovely pump bottle design that would make my morning routine that much more efficient.
Brow Flick: As I mentioned earlier, my brows are pretty light and sparse so sometimes Boy Brow just isn’t enough when I’m going for a fuller, more dramatic look. Enter Brow Flick, the perfect companion to Glossier’s (arguably) most iconic product.
Lidstar: When I’m looking for a little extra something, I want to reach for this one-and-done product. It’s only a matter of choosing the right shade for the job and that will require another trip to the store. Oh well, what can you do? ;)
